Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo says the presence of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force at the Gold Ridge Mine site is important for the country.

He says the police presence at the mine site will protect it for any future investors who want to invest at the site.

“If in the event that we agree or with the parties, when I said “we” that is including St Barbara and everyone that has that equitable interest to determine the future corporate solution to this company, we have no problem at all with the investment image in Solomon Islands when we put this company out on tender again, but if we don’t manage the situation at the site and the security situation deteriorates, you can see how hard it will be to convince investors into the country.”

Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo made the comments in Parliament last week.
