Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at Ranandi, East Honiara.

The armed robbery happened yesterday afternoon, when five men wearing masks and armed with bush knives, entered an Asian-owned Concrete Company compound and stole more than 30-thousand dollars, along with electronic appliances.

The Police Media Unit today said, an eyewitness revealed the men drove to the Asian compound in a white vehicle and threatened the Asian house owner, his wife, and the locals working on the premises.

Police have already detained a cab with a plate number that was reported, but the cab was not white, as the eye-witness had said.

Police are yet to make any arrest and are calling on anyone who may have sighted the suspects to come forward and report it to police.

Police can be contacted through the Police Communication Centre on phone: 23666 or 999.
