Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare is ready to work with development partners including the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI) to address the country’s development aspirations.

In his first public appearance immediately after his election, Prime Minister Sogavare says, his Democratic Coalition for Change Government understands the challenges ahead and the need to work together with the country’s development partners including RAMSI to address the development aspirations of Solomon Islands.

“To all our traditional partners and overseas friends and RAMSI, we all recognise the challenge that lies ahead in building a stronger Solomon Islands and we can only achieve that by working together. This is the task that demands our collective effort and it is exactly for this reason that I am looking forward to building stronger and constructive partnership with our traditional allies.”

Mr Sogavare acknowledges, the country is in dire need of funds to meet the daily needs of many ordinary Solomon Islanders.

He dedicated his victory and that of the incoming government to God and thanked MPs’ in the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) for their trust and confidence in him to lead the country.
