Public Servants in Makira Ulawa Province were unable to withdraw their fortnight salaries from the Bank South Pacific (BSP) agent in Kirakira last week.

Chair of the Solomon Islands National Teachers Association (SINTA) branch in Makira Province, Romano Haga confirmed to SIBC News over the weekend, saying the public servants were shocked to learn that the BSP agent in Kirakira refused to accept their withdrawals and updates.

Mr Haga said the situation has caused inconveniences to the officers as some have families to support.

Mr Haga calls on all responsible authorities, including BSP and the Makira Ulawa provincial government to explain the issue to the concerned officers.

SIBC News hopes to run replies from BSP and the Makira Ulawa provincial government in its later bulletins this week.
