RICE FARMERS FROM YSABEL & WESTERN TRAINED ON RICE MILLING

Rice farmers from Ysabel and Western Provinces have received training on using wooden rice milling machines.
The training was conducted at the Taiwanese Technical farm recently.
The initiative was introduced to reduce costs of modern rice milling machines.
A participating farmer from Ysabel Province Mr. Jasper Kopredi says as Small Holders, they appreciate the introduction of the wooden rice milling machine which they expect will reduce cost.
“From the two provinces which attended the training, we are very happy because it fits smallholder farmers as it is not too expensive. Farmers will only plant rice, dry it thoroughly and then they can be able to mill it by using wooden bowl mill.”
