The Cabinet Sub-Committee on Commodities Exports Marketing Authority (CEMA) is in its final stages of its review on CEMA.

Secretary for CEMA Cabinet Sub-Committee Mr. John Kennedy Taufunu confirms this morning that the Committee is finalizing the report and a Cabinet paper will be drawn up soon for deliberation on the recommendations.

Mr. Taufunu says this would disclose the way forward on the areas in which the CEMA reform will take as soon as the recommendations are put to Cabinet for deliberation.

He adds on the quality assurance service, CEMA is footing the cost of maintaining its current service.

Meanwhile, he says the Democratic Coalition for Change Government is committed to seeing CEMA revived.

Taufunu adds the DCC Government commits to strengthening CEMA in all its areas of responsibilities to help the country’s farmers and maintain high-quality export, especially cocoa and copra and soon other agricultural products.
