The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission (SIEC) has opened for the first time in Solomon Islands, a new Information Kiosk.

The Commission confirms, voters who have questions about what to do on Election Day can get help from the SIEC by visiting the Voter information Kiosk, located on the ground floor of the Honiara City Council building on towards the Magistrate’s Court side.

SIEC Communications and Awareness Manager Philothea Ruaeho says this is the first time the SIEC has set aside a dedicated space for public awareness.

She says people who have questions about what to do on polling day should visit the Voter Information Kiosk and talk to SIEC staff there.

Inside the Kiosk, voters can familiarise themselves with a demonstration Polling Station, learn about the voting procedures, check their registration and ask any questions they may have.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Ruaeho says this is a great opportunity for the public, especially first time voters, to ask questions ahead of next week’s National General Election.

The Voter Information Kiosk opens from 9am to 4.30pm every day until the Election next week.
