The Solomon Islands Peoples Democracy Coalition (SIPDC) believes it is time the country invests in the development of a ‘long-term vision and development strategy’.

The coalition issued a statement last night saying the strategy will articulate the development outcomes and targets the country should aim to achieve within the planned period.

It says if SIPDC takes over the next Government it will develop a long-term strategy for the period up to year 2050.
The statement explains the strategy shall be called ‘Solomon Islands Vision 2050’.

It says within the context of this long-term plan, there will be targets to be achieved every four years to coincide with the life of each parliament.

SIPDC says for the period covered under the 10th parliament, an SIPDC-led government will embark on implementing six policy priorities – Human Development, Economic Development, Effective governance, public sector reforms and traditional leadership systems, National security, Building resilience, and Foreign relations and aid effectiveness.
