Solomon Islands Visitors Arrival has shown a 15.6 percent increase in April this year.

The Solomon Islands tourism industry confirmed this figure.

It adds this is a massive shot of confidence for tourism development in the country.

Meanwhile, Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau (SIVB) Chief ExecutiveOfficer, Josefa ‘Jo’ Tuamoto says he believes the recent strategic approach initiated by the SIVB with government, the national airline, and local industry support has resulted in the achievement.

Mr. Tuamoto says the news is timely as it comes just days before the country’s tourism industry joins together at the Solomon Kitano Mendana Hotel this Friday for the much awaited 2015 Our Telekom National Tourism Forum.

He urges all involved parties to always remember to take long hard look at what they have achieved and examine how they will continue to improve on those achievements as this remains a critical component and one all concerned parties must maintain to ensure the required steps to propel the country’s tourism fortunes into the future.
