The Solomon Islands Women in Business Association (SIWIBA) will celebrate its 10th anniversary next week.

A media statement from SIWIBA says the celebration will coincide with the bi-monthly SIWIBA Mere’s Market for the month of
February.

Celebration of the 10th anniversary will take place next Wednesday with a parade through Honiara town from Central Market to Art Gallery grounds.

The celebration should have been hosted last month but was postponed due to bad weather.

The celebration theme is “Strengthening Women Through Business.”

Meanwhile, in an interview with SIBC News today, SIWIBA President Dalcy Tekulu says this is a significant event in the Association’s history.

She also urged the Honiara public to be a part of the celebrations next week so people can see the level of development its women members have reached in the business.

This is a significant activity in SIWIBA’s history and one that we have been planning and our women are really looking forward to it. I would like to ask everyone to come along to the activity and be part of the celebration and also to see what level the women have reached, especially in terms of SIWIBA’s development. They will also showcase their products so I just want to ask the public to please come and visit us during the activities and support our women in business during the celebrations, which will start Monday to Friday next week.”
