S.P.G UPDATES: FOUR GOLD MEDALS FOR SOLOMON ISLANDS

Solomon Islands has snatched four gold medals today in the Pacific Games,  thanks to female weight lifter Jenly Wini.

Ms Wini out-classed her opponents in the Snatch, Clean and Jerk categories and an overall gold medal.

Reporting from Port Moresby is SIBC’s Rolland Ko’ofuli.

“Solomon Islands has won three gold medals in weight lifting and of course as most of you might have known, the medals came from our female weight lifter Jenly Wini, who took gold for Snatch, Clean and Jerk and an overall for these two plus another gold medal for the Oceania for her win this afternoon. That brings a total of four gold medals for Solomon Islands by Ms Winli’s win this afternoon in terms of weight lifting.”

He adds as of this morning Solomon Islands has snatched 10 gold medals in total.

“Solomon Islands has won 10 gold medals from weight lifting as of this morning and seven bronze as well as three silver medals since last night and with Jenli’s medals, the country now has 14 medals so far.”
