Kilusakwalo Community High School in Central Kwarae, Malaita Province has raised more than five-thousand dollars for flash flood victims.

Head Teacher Billy Dau says, the fundraiser is a joint effort between the staff and students of the school.

Mr Dau says, the school has seen the need to help those affected by recent flash flooding in the country.

“We have seen the need for such to happen, seeing that the province itself hasn’t done it part and the main thing was that most of the victims were Malaitans themselves and so we have decided with that to help those people who have experienced the natural disaster.”

Mr Dau adds the funds have been forwarded to NDMO office to provide assistance.

He acknowledges the public for their support and understanding in helping the victims.
