The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) launched its 8th Business Excellence Awards in Honiara on Friday.

The nomination period for the award is now open until 18 October, 2024.

Winners will be recognized at a ceremony later this year with the theme being “Navigating Business through a Challenging Landscape.”

SICCI Chief Executive Officer Mr. James Dolarii confirmed this to the local media.

“This year, it is about elite business leadership, practices and performance in a challenging business environment.”

He explained the Awards is an event to recognize SCCI business members that have been doing business activities in supporting the Solomon Islands’ economy.

James encourages organization, no matter how large or small to enter as it is an opportunity for organizations to gain competitive advantage by having their projects, initiatives, contributions and achievements recognized on a prominent and far-reaching scale.

Submitting an entry provides organizations with the opportunity to benchmark against top performers across all industries and sectors.

The awards also provide the ultimate platforms for improving brand awareness, loyalty and retention by increasing the respective organization’s exposure, recognition and prestige.

“This is a valuable resource that can be used extensively to create opportunities for publicity, positive organizational profiling and heightened brand awareness within the Solomon Islands and indeed, international marketplace.”

Meanwhile, Board member, Dinna Irofufuli said that the awards recognizes companies of all sizes within the business community.

Mrs Irofufuli said the awards categories are the heart of it and it’s a chance for member companies, large, medium and small to be recognized for their outstanding performance and contributions to the business community, respective sector, and the economy.

“This year, we have 12 categories, including the Prime Minister’s Award and we’re pleased to announce two new categories which are the Business contribution to the Community award and the Building and Construction Awards.”
