SICCI WELCOMED NEW SIPA CHAIRPERSON

The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) has welcomed the new Chairman of the Solomon Islands Ports Authority, Billy Titiulu.

Mr Titiulu’s appointment was announced last Friday.

SICCI Chair, Jay Bartlett says Mr Titiulu is a highly experienced senior figure, adding he has valuable skills and strong background that will help him discharge his new duty successfully.

He says Mr Titiulu’s appointment is a very positive move by the Government.

SICCI congratulates the Minister of Finance and Treasury, Hon Snyder Rini and the Minister of Infrastructure Development, Hon Jimmy Lusibaea, on this decision.

Meanwhile, SICCI also welcomes the decision by the Minister for Infrastructure Development to direct SIPA to concentrate on core activities.

It says it is important to follow the SIPA Act, and also to enable management focus on the important reform task ahead.

The Chamber says it wishes to thank the outgoing SIPA Chair Nollen Leni, for his commitment and contribution.

SICCI adds it looks forward to working closely with the new Chair of SIPA, its Board, management and strongly support their efforts to improve ports efficiency in Solomon Islands.
