Six people have been arrested by the Naha Police CID officers in relation to a break-in incident at the Carpenters Hardware at Ranadi over the weekend.

Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast confirmed the arrests at his weekly media conference this morning.

He advised police investigations have led to the arrest of four suspects on 19th January, a day after the break-in incident.

“I could advise that Naha CID officers have made several arrests in relation to the break-in incident at the Carpenters Hardware at Ranadi over the weekend. Preliminary investigation has led police to believe that the incident may have occurred in the early hours of Sunday the 18th of January and the investigation resulted in the arrest of four suspects the following day on the 19th of January.”

The Police Commissioner adds continued investigations have led to two other arrests over the next two days following the initial arrest.

“Continued investigations have led to another two arrests over the next two days, with one person arrested on the 20th and another on the 21st of January and some of the stolen items have also been recovered, so that’s a total of six arrests in relation to that incident, but there are still other people we’re looking for. We’re very grateful for the support we’ve received from the public in relation to that incident but if anyone has any information about people who’ve been involved, we’d ask them to come forward.”
