Solomon Airlines code-sharing flights to Fiji operated through Air Niugini has been suspended.

Fiji Times Online reported today, the airline was informed of the suspension by Permanent Secretary for Civil Aviation, Sharvada Sharma in a letter last week.

Mr Sharma said any designated airline of the Solomon Islands will not be allowed to operate or sell services to Fiji from the Solomon Islands.

He explained the suspension is because Solomon Airlines has breached the Air Services Agreement and suspended services to Fiji.

SIBC News understands Solomon Islands citizens in Fiji still have the option to travel to Solomon Islands through Port Vila or Brisbane.
