Solomon Airlines has signed an agreement with Air Niugini and Air Vanuatu to enter into a Tripartite Codeshare arrangement on the Port Moresby, Honiara, and Port Villa route.

The three airlines agreed to work together to develop and promote partnership in aviation services that can benefit the Melanesian countries.

Under this agreement, Solomon Airlines and Air Vanuatu will be using Air Niugini’s Fokker 100 aircraft for this service.

While the code share arrangement details is yet to be agreed upon, the arrangement is expected to form the basis of other similar arrangements to promote aviation amongst the Melanesian Spear Head Group.

Pacific Islands News Association reports the three Melanesian airlines are optimistic to commence this service in June.
