Solomon Airlines announces it will commence operation of a new direct Honiara-Nadi service effective from November, subject to government approval.

The national carrier will utilise its flagship Airbus A320 on the route is scheduled to operate ex-Honiara on Wednesdays and ex-Nadi on Thursdays.

The new service builds on the national carrier’s existing Honiara-Nadi service which operates via Port Vila, Vanuatu, on Saturdays and returns to Honiara, again via Port Vila, on Sundays.

This new flight path represents a further expansion of Solomon Airlines international network in recent months, the carrier having commenced a direct Sydney-Honiara service in June.

Solomon Airlines General Manager Operations & Commercial, Gus Kraus says the commencement of the new Honiara-Nadi service held great significance for the prospect of  increased trade and business links between the two countries as well as a closer relationship with a key Melanesian neighbour.
