Successful Pre-Poll Day for West Guadalcanal By-Election

The pre-poll was conducted at the Hulavu pre-poll station today.

More than 80 polling officials have applied for pre-poll ahead of the by-election.

Speaking to SIBC News, Election Manager, Joseph Sua said the pre-poll was carried out smoothly and efficiently.

” The Pre-poll went well today. A team from the Electoral office conducted the pre-poll to ensure all preparations are in place for the upcoming election,” he said.

He adds that there were no disturbances as the pre-poll was conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner.

The West Guadalcanal by-election is scheduled for Wednesday, June 4th , 2025.

Meanwhile, the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission confirms that polling officials for the by-election have completed their two-day Polling Procedural Training .

They will be deployed to their respective polling stations before June 4th.
