Transparency Solomon Islands has called on the Parliamentary Entitlements Commission to rescind the 2015 Parliamentary Entitlements Regulations.

In a press release, TSI says it agrees with expressed public outrage against the recent entitlements awarded to MPs.

The anti-corruption body says it is aware there is a pending legal challenge against the 2015 entitlements but the simplest way to resolve this is for the PEC to meet and revoke the decision, and strike out these unaffordable entitlements, including the tax free salary provision.

Meanwhile, TSI has called on its members and the public to join TSI in signing a petition calling on the PEC to meet and rescind the regulations.

TSI says it is important that people show their disapproval of these entitlements and encourages the public to sign a petition.
The details of where to sign the petition will be released soon.
