The Rennell-Bellona Provincial Premier Lence Tangosia says the mining prospect currently conducted in East Rennell is expected to bring substantial development to the province.

A local print today carried an article that an Indonesian Mining Company has submitted an application to conduct prospecting in East Renelle.

Premier Tangosia confirms to SIBC News today his Executive has endorsed the company with strict operating conditions.

“Or yes I’ve signed a memorandum and that’s the reason why I am not afraid to announce it. I’ve signed an airstrip, three three tone trucks for the people and I’ve signed with the company roads from West to East Rennell.”

Meanwhile, Mr Tangosia denies claims that the Mining operation will affect the Province’s world Heritage site- Lake Tengano.

He says the mining area is situated far from the Lake.
