Transparency Solomon Islands, TSI, has questioned the reduction of 2014 scholarship.

In a statement today, TSI queried why the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development has awarded only 99 scholarships this year.

The statement says this is a huge reduction from 311 scholarships in 2008 and more than 180 scholarships awarded last year.

TSI adds Students who have worked hard for the SIG scholarship list deserve to know the reason for this.

It now calls on the Ministry of Education to explain the reduction in this year’s scholarship awardees.

SIBC News understands the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development is expected to respond to these concerns in a press conference today.
