YOUNG GIRLS ENCOURAGED TO CONTEST BEAUTY PAGEANT
Young beautiful and intelligent girls in the country are encouraged to take up the challenge as the new Miss Solomon Islands.
Entries for the annual beauty pageant is now open for girls between the ages of 18 and 25.
The Miss Solomon Islands Beauty Pageant Director Joyce Konofilia says they are looking for confident articulate girls.
“Single and doesn’t have a baby, also she must be confident and is able to represent us on the International stage like the Miss South Pacific. And this year is a big event because the Miss South Pacific will celebrate thirty years of its existence in Apia so it will be a big event there. So we want to promote our young women but also to promote Solomon Islands as a tourist destination.”
The beauty pageant final is scheduled next month for three days.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Konofilia says the current Queen Deanne Enoch has done exceptionally well.
Miss Deanne is completing her law studies in PNG.
