Youth groups receive $1k each from SNGR&T constituency
By LACHLAN EDDIE
United Church youth groups within the South New Georgia Rendova and Tetepare (SNGR&T) Constituency have each received $1,000 from the constituency.
These youth groups are currently participating in the United Church National Youth Convention being hosted at Koqegolo in Munda, Western Province.
Patmos Youth Chaplain, Thomson Namo Panda told SIBC News that the Constituency Project Officer (CPO) personally hand-delivered the financial support to the groups’ treasurers yesterday.
“Around 3pm, the CPO team came to our camp and hand-delivered the cash,” said Panda.
He acknowledged Member of Parliament for SNGR&T Constituency, Hon. David Gina, for the cash donation to each youth group from his constituency.
Chaplain Panda revealed, as long as he can remember, Hon. Gina’s administration is the first for the constituency to support the United Church youth.
“I have attended other United Church conventions in the past, and Hon. David Gina is the first MP for the constituency to support United Church youth while we attend such major gatherings,” Panda said.
He added that their MP is doing excellent work for the youth in his constituency.
The United Church National Convention will conclude on Sunday, with youth groups from across the country traveling back to their respective churches and communities on Monday.
