Makira Ulawa Province has been assured of the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government’s assistance in driving forward provincial development programs and strategic plan.
Prime Minister Honourable Manasseh Sogavare made the statement during his official speech on the Makira Ulawa Province second appointed day celebration at Kirakira yesterday.
Mr Sogavare said the occasion is a time when the provincial government and people of the province stand back and assess the challenges, miss opportunities and potentials facing Makira UlawaProvince.
Miss Salinda Maka’a reports from Kirakira, Prime Minister Sogavareis pleased with the various success stories to date.
In terms of the Kirakira township extension, the government through the provincial government and Institutional strengthening supports Kirakira townships development and will continue to maintain commitment until the Huro land – earmarked for Kirakira expansion is fully acquired.
He urged the province to acknowledge, it is an integral part of Solomon Islands, and must work together with other sister provinces to pull the country together to advancing national joy, peace progress and prosperity.
Meanwhile, the Makira Ulawa Premier Thomas Weape has renewed the province’s commitment to God for direction.
The declaration was dedicated under the theme, “LORD THY KINDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, IN MAKIRA ULAWA PROVINCE”
Mr Weape urged the people of the province to allow God’s Plan and Purpose to lead them.
