The Solomon Islands National University (SINU) Council maintained its position on a decision regarding the University’s offer on the conditions of Contracts for its Lecturers.

It also calls on all Academic staff to begin classes next week.

The Lecturers Association of Solomon Islands National University (LASINU) recently challenged the Council’s offer to the University lecturers.

Solomon Islands National University Vice-Chancellor Dr Glen Galo told SIBC News, contract negotiations have been ongoing over the past couple of weeks.

Dr Galo said additionally, SINU lecturers have withdrawn their service – withholding examination results and delaying classes for the second semester.

He explains, the Council had this morning deliberated on lecturers submission.

Dr. Galo adds the SINU Council has not changed its position and call on all Academic staff to submit their examination results by today.
