The fourth Joint Plenary on the Draft Federal Constitution has concluded.

A government statement yesterday said the Constitutional Congress and the Eminent Persons Advisory Council concluded the Joint Plenary in Honiara last Friday.

Speaking at the end of the Plenary last Friday, Deputy Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga said, the Congress and the Council are expected to adopt a polished draft document this week.

He also said the Government is looking forward to receiving a copy and a set of the accompanying explanatory notes of the constitution.

The Deputy Prime Minister also pledged the Government’s ongoing support to the Congress and the Council to advance the constitutional reform process to the desired end.

SIBC News understands the final draft is expected to be ready by the end of this month.
