Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo and his delegation have met officials of the New Zealand Pacific Islands Business Council during the state visit to New Zealand last week.

Prime Minister Lilo says the dialogue is part of ongoing reforms to establish updated relevant policies on business development in Solomon Islands.

He says following the meeting, documents have been signed to pave the way for the New Zealand Pacific Islands Business Council to assist the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce improve its business.

“Under the joint commitment for development that we have recently signed between the Ministry of Development Planning and the New Zealand Government, there is hope there to promote better engagement of New Zealand and Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce, and they have worked out a path for them to engage how they can promote good business in Solomon Islands, how they can help our Chamber of Commerce to reach out to the business community or to educate our people to be more aware and see, you know, the prospect of business enterprises in Solomon Islands,” said Prime Minister Lilo.
