A.N.S.I CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION OF LOGGING ON MONO
The Anti-corruption Network of Solomon Islands(ANSI) is calling for an immediate suspension of logging operations on Mono, Shortland Islands.
The anti-corruption body says, this is crucial to stop a further escalation of violence in the area.
Reports reaching ANSI confirmed ongoing logging quarrel on Mono Island has now reached a highly volatile and dangerous situation where innocent lives are being severely threatened.
It says this is serious as one alleged fatal case has allegedly been reported following a related incident yesterday morning.
ANSI further calls for an investigation into the Exemption Order 38 issued by the Minister of Forestry and Research for this particular operation.
