ABBOTT SENDS CONDOLENCES TO SOLOMON’S FLOOD VICTIMS

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has written to Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo expressing his condolences to the families of the victims of the April floods.

In the letter to Prime Minister Lilo, Mr Abott says, as a close friend and partner, Australia always stands ready to help Solomon Islands in the aftermath of the natural disaster.

He says Australia is providing 3 million in support to assist with immediate needs adding, it will also work closely with Solomon Islands on the longer-term support.

The Australian Prime Minister says, he is also pleased that Australia, through the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands, RAMSI, is assisting with additional safety and security needs during this time.
