MAN ACQUITTED OF RAPE DUE TO INCONSISTENT EVIDENCE
High Court judge Stephen Pallaras has acquitted a man from rape charges yesterday because there was no consistent evidence against him.
The defendant was accused of allegedly raping a woman from Makira Province at Burnscreek in 2012.
His trial started Monday this week.
But after the prosecution closed their case, the defense submitted there was no case to answer.
The defense says, the prosecution’s evidence was not consistent.
Judge Pallaras after considering the submission, ruled there was no case to answer.
He set the defendant free.
