ALLEGED MONEY THEFT UNDER INVESTIGATIONS

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, RSIPF, is currently investigating an alleged theft of a substantial amount of money from the High Court.

The Central Police Criminal Investigation Department, CID, confirmed the case was reported to them last month and an investigation is underway.

The actual amount of money remains unconfirmed, but it is believed to be more than thirty-thousand dollars.

A source told SIBC News the monies went missing from the High Court office since 2012 but remain unreported until this year after the second incident.

SIBC News understands, the stolen monies were collected by the Registry office as Court fees.
