Guadalcanal Provincial Police operation team has successfully uprooted more than 1000 marijuana plants at Komukea Village, North East Guadalcanal on Friday.

A police statement says members of Komukea Community alerted Guadalcanal Provincial Police about the sighting of the marijuana plants near the village and alerted the police.

The police responded few minutes after midday, secured the scene and successfully removed the plants.

Though the alleged owner of the marijuana patch escaped, the police have established strong investigation grounds.

Tetere Police is now calling on the public, particularly those from Komukea village and surrounding communities to inform Tetere police onĀ 34508 or through the Police Communication Centre on 23666 about information relating to the suspect.
