More than 28-thousand flood affected people in Honiara and East and West Guadalcanal will receive support for livelihoods, education, water and hygiene through a 10-million dollars partnership with World Vision Australia, Save the Children Australia and Oxfam Australia.

The funding assistance is part of the Australian Government’s package of assistance to the floods response announced by Foreign Minister Julie Bishop last Tuesday.

Australia in Solomon Islands says, the three NGO’s will conduct a range of activities, including building community nurseries and greenhouses, distributing garden seeds and tools, rehabilitating boreholes, renovating school classrooms and sanitation facilities as well as providing protection and emotional support training to community members.
