The Lands Tender Board of the Ministry of Lands and Ministry of Forestry are in consultation on the occupation of the Honiara Botanical Garden upper border.

Authorities involved in the dealing of this issue will be the Ministry of Lands, Ministry of Forestry, Solomon Water and Honiara City Council.

Director of National Herbarium and Botanical Gardens within the Ministry of Forestry Mr. Myknee Sirikolo informed SIBC News, in the recent past, a number of citizens erected residential buildings within the garden compound.

The Lands Tender Board and it’s stakeholders were not aware of the activities, revealed Mr. Myknee.

“The ministry of lands and even the surveyor general are not aware of the sub-divisions in the upper boundary of upper botanical gardens,” shes said.

“The updates that we got was the land tender board met last week, to try and deliberate , control and stop these activities.”
