MINISTRY OF WOMEN TO PRESENT FIRST EVER NATIONAL PLAN TO CABINET
The Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs will present to cabinet its first ever National Strategy on economic empowerment for women in the coming days.
Minister responsible, Jimson Tanaganda made the announcement in his keynote address to commemorate the Rokotanikeni 16th years of financial establishment yesterday.
Minister Tanaganda said the strategy is to encourage gender equality, increase employment opportunities to ensure high economic growth in the country.
“Policy statement objectives which I quote ‘encourage gender balance as well as to generate jobs and increase employment opportunities for the growing population and achieve high economic growth, wealth and social wellbeing for all Solomon Islands.”
The Minister adds the strategy was developed in a timely way through a consultative process with key partners and stakeholders.
