The Government’s initiative to revive the Commodities Export Marketing Authority (CEMA) is progressing well.

Secretary of the Cabinet Sub-Committee tasked for the job, John Kennedy Taufunu told SIBC News this week.

Mr. Taufunu said his Committee has finalised its preliminary report on the status of CEMA and awaits deliberation by the Cabinet.

He adds, the second phase of the exercise will start next month.

Mr. Taufunu said this will involve provincial consultations and infrastructure assessments which will start early next year.

Meanwhile, he said the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government is committed to strengthening CEMA in all its areas of responsibility.
