COCOA FARMERS DISAPPOINTED WITH WET BEAN PRICES
Cocoa farmers in and around North Malaita have expressed disappointment over the unattractive buying price for wet cocoa beans in the region.
The farmers alleged current buyers pay $3.00 per kilogram for wet beans.
SIBC stringer for North Malaita John Andrew Kiri reports, the rate should go up to encourage farmers.
“The farmers called on the green bean buyers to work together with them to satisfy each other to produce the best quality cocoa product and help our economy grow and provide the needed income for both parties.”
