Deteriorating road conditions in East Malaita could halt transport services in the region.
Transport providers in the region complaint, their services will be withheld this week.
David Sibea Bata told SIBC News, the East road is now in its worst condition and transport providers have no other option but to cease providing further services in the region.
He says the Ministry of Infrastructure Development must take some blame for the road condition because its contract awardees are not always qualified.
“It’s the Ministry of Infrastructure’s fault because in issuing out tenders to fix the roads, only interested MPs were often awarded contracts, some of which are not even qualified for roadworks.”
