Current bad weather has caused communication problems for the people of Rennell and Bellona Province.

“We would like to know what happened yesterday and the day before. We only received SIBC this morning.

SIBC News understands a Heavy Rain Warning is currently in force for Choiseul, Western, Isabel, Malaita, Central, Makira, Temotu and Guadalcanal Provinces.

Meanwhile, a Heavy Rain Warning Number Eight has been issued by the Solomon Islands Meteorological Services at 7am this morning.

The Heavy Rain Warning is in force for Choiseul, Western, Isabel, Malaita, Central, Makira, Temotu and Guadalcanal Provinces.

This follows a slowly moving Low of 1,002 hectopascal at 11am last night which was relocated approximately 32 nautical miles East of Tetepare, Western Province.

The Met Office says thunderstorms and rains associated with the low are expected to affect the country.

Motorists are also advised to use extreme caution when travelling in the affected areas.
