The Development Bank of Solomon Islands, DBSI, Interim Board has set 2nd December 2019 as the date for DBSI Soft Launching.

The Government Communication Unit reports, after the Interim Board was appointed on the 10th July 2019, significant progress of relevant activities towards the opening and launching of the bank has been completed.

It says key milestones achievements towards the opening of the bank include securing of the office space at the Anthony Building, tenancy agreement to be completed soon and work on the office set up will commence soon.

Further, DBSI Board have completed the scoping of the banking solution platform and procurement plan for IT software and hardware also writing up of Job Description, JD, for the Chief Executive Officer, approved by Board.

Other tasks on progress cover work on the development of a Strategic Plan and the financial modelling for the bank is progressing and will be completed soon.

The Board is currently working on completing the logo and the strapline for the Bank and soon to develop its new website.

Recruitment of other personnel and officers will commence by early November and the plan is to have a team doing promotion and marketing of bank products by November.
