The dead body of the 25 years old male person discovered, floating at sea in the Kokosu area of Noro Township, Western Province has been identified by relatives and is now laid to rest.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander for Western Province, Inspector Wilken Miriki said, the deceased was from Malaita Province who was living with his mother at Kohigo Island near Noro.

Inspector Miriki said the deceased was reportedly drunk when he paddled a dugout canoe from Noro to Belama Village to see his mum.

His mother insisted that he should not go back to Noro but the deceased returned to Noro and that was the time the deceased was last seen.

Inspector Miriki says, the investigation into the possible cause of his death continues and appeals to anyone that might have any information to come forward and assist the police.
