The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development has launched its Education Strategic Framework 2016-2030 over the weekend.

The new framework includes three very important goals.

Permanent Secretary, Dr. Franco Rodie says these goals will guide the country’s education sector for the next 15 years.

“The first one is to improve access to education at all levels for our children including adults who need to be retaught of the important things or basic things that they need to learn; secondly, to improve the quality of education and by this, we mean improving teacher effectiveness and student learning strategies so that at the end of the day we can see improved student performance in the assessment tasks that they are asked to do and so forth.”

The third goal of the new Framework is to manage the resources that are made available to schools including education authorities.

The event also marked the launching of the National Education Action Plan 2016-2020 along with its Implementation framework and the 2016 Annual work plan.

The Education Strategic Framework comes after various consultations by the Ministry of Education with its stakeholders since June last year.
