People of Shortland Islands have criticised the Chairperson of the FAMOA Trust Board Sir George Lepping for arranging FAMOA’s board meeting in Honiara.

SIBC’s Shortland Island stringer John Kotaru reported a Chief Bernard Otuana of Samanavua village, as saying the meeting should be held in Shortland if it is for the development of Shortland Islands.

Chief Otuana told Mr Kotaru that Shortland Islands has the majority of stakeholders to contribute in such meetings.

“Chief Otuana said such a meeting must take place in the Shortlands where 99-point-nine percent of stakeholders are, so that they can contribute in the meeting and that the public can also listen.”

He adds, several meetings have been held in Honiara by the FAMOA Board, but no development has been taking place.

SIBC News understands, the meeting was held in Honiara yesterday.
