Chief Field Officer of the Agriculture office in Buala, Isabel Province has called on the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock to re-effect the land use development planning as a department.

Chief Field Officer Jacob Pitu says this is to enable agriculture officers to have a soil laboratory to assess soil.

He says this is the right direction for the ministry of agriculture.

“The right direction is to re-effect Land Use Development Planing as a department, have it well recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and then they too will incorporate the Soils laboratory so that we could assess every soil where right now we don’t have access to, but we paid heavily to access soils laboratory from Fiji at this point in time.”
