The first ever national savings club workshop will be held in Honiara next week.

The workshop entitled “Enduring Value: The Path to Financial Inclusion through Savings clubs” will begin on Monday next week at the CBSI main office in Honiara.

It will be hosted by the Central Bank of Solomon Islands, in partnership with the Pacific Financial Inclusion Programme.

A press statement from the Central Bank of Solomon Islands says over 40 participants from around the country have confirmed their attendance and participants include Savings club practitioners, leaders of Savings clubs, facilitators, staff of NGOs and institutions promoting savings clubs, development partners, donors, private sector and policy makers.

Central Bank Governor Denton Rarawa is expected to officially open the workshop and the ceremony’s guests include the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade at the Australian High Commission and the PFIP Project manager based in Suva, Fiji – Reuben Summerlin.
