Former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Elizabeth Clark has arrived in the country ahead of Wednesday’s launch of the ‘National Youth Policy’.

Ms Clark will launch the policy in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs in partnership with the United Nations Development Program.

Following the launch will be a Dialogue with Solomon Islands Youth representatives.

On her arrival today, Ms Clark had a briefing with UNDP Country officials.

She also met briefly with His Excellency, Don Higgins of the New Zealand High Commission this afternoon.

SIBC Online understands, Ms Clark will also deliver the keynote address to the Solomon Islands National Women’s Leadership Program.

She will be speaking on “Inclusion and equality: Why women’s political leadership matters”. The program starts at 9am tomorrow.

This evening’s welcome reception is hosted by the Solomon Islands National Women’s Leadership Programme.

Helen Elizabeth Clark is a New Zealand politician who served as the 37th Prime Minister of New Zealand from 1999 to 2008 and was the Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme from 2009 to 2017.
