Former Premier of Guadalcanal Province Anthony Veke has disassociated his former government from the issues surrounding the selling of Doma Land to the Prime Minister.

Deputy Premier of Guadalcanal Walton Naezon last month told the Island Sun News Paper, Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo had purchased land in Doma outside of the knowledge of the Guadalcanal Province Land Division.

But in response to claims that his former Government had sold land in Doma to the Prime Minister, the Tangarare Ward Member said they never sold any Doma land to Prime Minister Lilo.

Mr Veke said his former Government only knew of interests shown by the Prime Minister’s wife, Madam Brownwyn Lilo, to buy land in Doma.

“I just want to clarify here to the Guadalcanal public that the selling of land to the Honorable Prime Minister was not done by my government, it was not done by my government. Though it’s knowledgeable during my leadership that it was Madam Lilo who wants a pice of land at Doma, and we are well aware of that,” said the former Guadalcanal Premier.
