FORMER SMALL MALAITA MP QUESTIONED OVER C.D.F TRANSACTIONS
A Small Malaita man has questioned payments made out of the Small Malaita Constituency Development Funds account, saying it needs an explanation from the former Small Malaita MP and his Constituency Development officer, CDO.
A Jerry Hite told SIBC News in an interview that four payments made from the constituency’s CDF account are questionable and this warrants a clear explanation for the MP for Small Malaita.
He says one of the payments was a Government cheque of $3 million deposited and withdrawn from constituency’s CDF account in the name of a vessel to service the constituency.
“That cheque was an SIG cheque, number 309274 of $3 million. What I am questioning now is that $3 million was withdrawn on 21st January 2014 and then the payment was from the Ministry of Infrastructure to purchase a vessel. But since its withdrawal on 21st January this year we are yet to see a vessel, so where did they put the money?”
Mr Hite calls on the former MP for Small Malaita to explain to his people what has happened with the payments in question.
SIBC News hopes to run a reply from the outgoing MP and his CDO.
