Almost 400,000 cubic meters of treated water have been discharged out of the Gold Ridge Tailings Dam.

Chair of the Gold Ridge Company Investment Limited Walton Naezon confirms.

Mr Naezon says the recent dam spillage is a normal de-watering process.

“The company alsways said whatever water dischagred is safe because we have data and information to confirm the sample tests that we sent to ALF in Australia and also confirmed by the lab at the Ministry of Health, so with all those information we can confirm that the water discharged is safe.”

Mr. Naezon adds, they will soon lodge an application to the Director of Environment to discharge additional waters that is manageable.

The company has been licensed to discharge 540,000 cubic meters of treated water from the tailings dam.
